We are happy to be able to inform you that our Marina in Villasimius has been awarded the important recognition of "Ecologically Virtuous Port" as part of the annual event, promoted by Legambiente and Touring Club Italiano, to award the "5 Sails" to the most environmentally conscious Italian municipalities. The Marina of Villasimius ranked first among 136 tourist port facilities analyzed according to strict parameters.

On Friday, June 5, at Cascina Triulza inside EXPO Milano 2015, the CEO of the Marina di Villasimius Company, which has successfully managed the facility for years, Renato Marconi, and the Marina's Director, Amedeo Ferrigno, collected, in the presence of the national and trade press, the award in the presence of the jury chaired by, among others, Vittorio Cogliati Dezza (Legambiente National President), Franco Iseppi (President of the Italian Touring Club), Rossella Muroni (National Director of Legambiente), Giancarlo Morandi (COBAT President) and Enzo Biassoni (Jury President).

The event, as proof of its growing prestige, also saw the participation of important institutional figures such as Undersecretary for the Environment Barbara Degani and especially the unexpected and very important visit of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella who wanted to greet and personally congratulate the Mayors of the winning localities and the representatives of our Navy.

The Marina of Villasimius, among the very few marinas in the world to be located even within a Marine Protected Area, that of Capo Carbonara, has always had as its vocation that of respecting the environment that hosts and surrounds it. Thanks to this it has been able to overcome the fierce competition of well-known and established realities such as the marinas of Loano and Portisco among others, operating a careful and meticulous care in the ecological management of its structure.

Eng. Renato Marconi wanted to express, in his brief speech of thanks, his pride along with that of the entire entourage that led to such an achievement, for a recognition that comes in an area of paramount importance, such as that of the interpenetration between tourism business activities and the protection of the heritage and environmental resources of the territories that host them.

Issues that have always been among the founding pillars of the activities concerning the Marina of Villasimius and on which the management policies of all the other tourist port realities of the Marinedi Network, of which precisely Villasimius is among the leading facilities, also hinge.
