The Marefestival Salina - Massimo Troisi Award is a film and cultural festival held annually in Salina, one of the Aeolian Islands. The 2025 edition will be held June 13-15 and represents the 14th edition of the event. The festival is dedicated to the memory of actor and director Massimo Troisi, who shot his last film, Il Postino, on the very island of Salina.
During the festival, Troisi Prizes are awarded to prominent personalities in the entertainment world. In the 2025 edition, the Troisi Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to director and screenwriter Cristina Comencini, recognizing her contribution in telling the story of the female universe in Italian cinema.
The festival program includes film screenings, meetings with artists, musical moments and debates on social issues. Planned guests include prominent actors and directors, as well as moments dedicated to health and prevention, such as the "Health Village" organized by the ASP of Messina.
Marefestival Salina is open to the public, with free access to events, and aims to offer an immersive cultural experience in a unique natural setting.
